Jan Žambůrek's assist ensured that Steve Cotterill remains unbeaten in the league as the new Shrewsbury Town manager following their 1-1 draw at Wigan Atheltic on Saturday.
Will Keane's penalty put the hosts ahead but Jan, starting his first Sky Bet League One game since early November, found Shaun Whalley with a pinpoint pass midway through the second-half to level things up. That was how it stayed as The Shrews climbed to 17th in the third tier.
The side they overtook was AFC Wimbledon, for whom, Jaakko Oksanen made his first appearance in more than two months following injury. The midfielder was a half-time substitute against Oxford United at The Kassam Stadium. By the time Jaakko was introduced the hosts held a 2-0 lead thanks to early goals from Jordan Obita and Matt Taylor and that was how it stayed.
There was no action for Luka Racic with Northampton Town following a Covid-19 outbreak amongst the Ipswich Town squad forced Saturday's game to be postponed. The Cobblers are back in action tomorrow against Gillingham while Shrewsbury host Blackpool. AFC Wimbledon's next action comes on Saturday at home to Lincoln City.
In Sky Bet League Two, Arthur Read played the full 90 minutes of Stevenage's 1-1 draw away at Cheltenham Town. Liam Sercombe gave the home side a 28th minute lead but Jack Aitchison netted ten minutes from time to level things up. Stevenage slip to bottom following the defeat but do have games in hand on those around them. They are back in action tomorrow night at home to Play-Off chasing Cambridge United.
In the Premier League, Saïd Benrahma was an unused substitute for West Ham United's 2-2 draw at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday. The Hammers are next in action away at Southampton tomorrow evening.
