The tie, which is set to be played at Hanwell’s Powerday Stadium, is the first match for both sides in this year’s competition having being given byes for the First Round.

Brentford B have already taken on Hanwell this season in what was their first match back following their summer break in a game where the young Bees were narrowly beaten 3-2- with Gustav Mogensen and Aaron Pressley on the scoresheet for Neil MacFarlane’s side on the day.

The two clubs are no strangers to each other in this competition either as they met last season in the early stages when they played out yet another entertaining encounter. Having fallen 2-0 behind early on, the young side battled back to level the score with 10-men following Kane O’Connor’s dismissal and they went on to progress to the next round with a penalty shootout win.

Brentford B are still the current holders of the Middlesex FA Senior Challenge Cup following their 2018/19 triumph as last season’s competition was abandoned due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2019/20 season saw the side reach the Semi-Final as they aimed to lift the trophy in two consecutive seasons, picking up wins over Hanwell and Wingate & Finchley before their Semi-Final with Wealdstone was prevented from going ahead.

At the time of writing a date and time is yet to be confirmed for this fixture, and the potential to allow spectators into the venue will fall in line with UK Government guidance at the time. The side have already progressed from the Second Round of the London Senior Cup this season with a 6-2 win over Hendon and are waiting to be drawn against their next opponents.
