Ben Lampert, Sports Coach at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and England’s Deaf Football Assistant Coach, has been nominated for an award. Ben, 34, was named on the shortlist for Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Coach of the Year for 2020. There was a public vote and the results will be announced next week.

Ben, who won Gold with Team GB Deaf Football at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics, has been working with the Trust for more than a decade. He currently oversees the Deaf Coaching programme as well as working with children across the area. The programme encourages children and adults to get involved with sport and tackle the existing obstacles they face.

Ben's story is one that many Brentford fans will already know. The award-winning coach has been using British Sign Language to coach players of all ages. His story was included in the EFL Trust Advent Calendar last week and he is now up for an award. See more here.
