The young Bees will go into the match buoyed by their London Senior Cup Semi-Final victory at Griffin Park on Wednesday evening over Erith Town, a match which made up part of the side’s pre-season fixture schedule having been carried over from last season.

The friendly will offer another tough test for Neil MacFarlane’s side as they travel to the League One team who are building towards the beginning of their season.

It’s likely that the young Bees will come up against a mixture of both First Team and youth players at The County Ground as Richie Wellens readies his side for a new division having earned promotion from SkyBet League Two last season.

Brentford B’s first two fixtures of pre-season saw them narrowly lose to Hanwell Town last Saturday as they travelled to The Powerday Stadium where the home side edged it 3-2. Despite that, the match with Erith saw the young Bees put on an excellent performance as they scored six times in what was the final ever fixture at Griffin Park.

Fresh from netting a hat-trick against Erith, Gustav Mogensen will be looking to keep up his fine form having netted four goals in two matches, and Aaron Pressley has also been amongst the goals of late with two goals in his last two games.

Of course, the fixture coincides with First Team’s pre-season match with West Ham United at The London Stadium which is a 2pm kick-off. Swindon also have another fixture on the same day as they travel to Bristol City in preparation for their first Carabao Cup fixture with Charlton Athletic on 5 September.

The club will be providing updates of the First Team fixture at The London Stadium, and following that match, we will keep supporters informed of what’s happening at The County Ground. There will be regular updates via the Brentford B Instagram channel: @brentfordbteam and there will be a full report after the whistle with highlights to follow in the coming days.

In line with Swindon Town's COVID-19 protocol this fixture is strictly behind closed doors.
