The midfielder spent the early days of his career with FC Copenhagen before joining Leipzig’s youth setup at the age of 16. He represented the Under-17 side before progressing to the Under-19s. Prior to the curtailment of RB Leipzig’s Under-19 campaign due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the youngster featured in wins over youth sides from Hannover, Niendorfer TSV and Union Berlin in early March.

Mads has also featured in the UEFA Youth League, coming up against the likes of Zenit St Petersburg, Benfica and Olympique Lyon during the 2019/20 campaign. The teenager has won caps for Denmark at every age group from Under-16 to Under-19, playing 22 games for his country. The talented midfielder will add further strength to the Brentford B group as the side target a return to action in the coming months.

Mads has been in training with his new teammates recently and has spoken about how impressed he’s been with the setup at Brentford and the quality of his new teammates. He said: “I’m feeling really great, I’ve met the other boys, and everybody seems so nice and I’m having a good time here.

“The standard here is crazy, it’s so high, physically in terms of running as well as with the ball. Fortunately, I had the chance to train beforehand with some of the other boys (First Team) so I’ve been seeing a lot of good things.”

Mads will be looking to settle in quickly to life with The Bees under Neil MacFarlane before setting his sights on pushing himself into contention for First Team football under Thomas Frank.

The young Dane could well make his B Team debut in Saturday's pre-season fixture with Hanwell Town at The Powerday Stadium.
