Following on from the success of online health classes, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are launching a chair-based exercise class for those over the age of 60 or those with limited mobility. Delivered by experienced and qualified instructors, this class is ideal for older people self-isolating during Coronavirus outbreak.

The sessions will be held every Wednesday at 10.30am and will start on Wednesday 15 April. Funded by One You Hounslow, the sessions are available for adults who live or work in Hounslow. Streamed via online platform Zoom, the class will focus on strengthening muscles that are used in everyday activity and at a pace that suits participants involved.

Carol Clark, Interim Health Programmes Lead, said: “Exercising in later life can help improve muscle strength and balance, which helps with everyday tasks, such as walking up stairs or reaching up into a cupboard. These classes will help people who are self-isolating to connect with other members of their community and reduce feelings of isolation while helping them to maintain their health and fitness.”

The #BeeatHome campaign encourages children and adults to stay active within their homes. The Trust aims to deliver educational and physical activity content to children and adults in the local area while simultaneously urging people to stay at home to help save lives.
