Brentford B were beaten 1-0 by Luton Town in a behind closed doors friendly at Griffin Park earlier today.

Callum McManaman scored the only goal of the game in the first half, as Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva had a second-half penaly saved by James Shea.

Neil MacFarlane's side fielded several First Team names as Luton also named a strong side in the West London sunshine.

The opening goal came after 20 minutes. McManaman collected the ball from the wing, just inside the box, and was given the time to pick his spot into the bottom corner.

Straight down the other end, the best chance of the half for Brentford saw a low Dominic Thompson cross clipped over his own crossbar by Dan Potts.

Immediately after half-time, Brentford were given a penalty. Dasilva stepped up, but his low shot was parried and then caught by goalkeeper James Shea.

Just before the hour, Joel Valencia crossed from the right, Gustav Mogensen flicked it towards goal but it dropped inches over the crossbar.

Luton came a whisker away from extending the lead on 65 minutes when Elliot Lee turned in the box, got away from his man and fired wide of the target.

Moments later, a low shot by Elliot Lee was parried by Patrik Gunnarsson as it flew through the wall. He was up again to save from Callum McManaman on the rebound in superb fashion.

Just before the final whistle, Gunnarsson was in fine form again to stop a strong shot from George Moncur.
