The latest for our players away from Griffin Park

30 September 2019

It was a mixed weekend for our players away from Griffin Park with three wins, a draw, and three defeats.

Of those three wins, Canice Carroll was an unused substitute as Carlisle United beat Oldham Athletic 1-0 at Brunton Park while Reece Cole and Justin Shaibu played the final two and four minutes respectively as Partick Thistle and Boreham Wood picked up wins. Partick were 3-1 victors at Inverness Caledonian Thistle to move off the bottom of the Scottish Championship while The Wood beat Woking 2-1 to move to within four points of the Play-Offs in the National League.

Elsewhere, Halil Dervişoğlu played the full 90 minutes as ten-man Sparta Rotterdam were held to a goalless draw by struggling Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie. Emiliano Marcondes and Ellery Balcombe both suffered defeats after playing the full 90 minutes in Denmark. Emiliano and FCM remain top of the Danish Superliga despite their 1-0 defeat at home to OB but Viborg slip to fourth in Division One following their 2-1 defeat to fellow promotion hopefuls Kolding IF.

In the absence of the suspended Marcus Forss, AFC Wimbledon also suffered defeat, losing 3-2 on the road at Peterborough United to remain 23rd in Sky Bet League One.
