Emiliano Marcondes made his first appearance in the colours of FC Midtjylland this week. The Brentford attacker made a loan switch to the Danish club last week and played for them in a reserve game against Esbjerg forenede Boldklubber on Tuesday. Emiliano scored one and set up two more in a 3-1 win. He will have a chance to make a full debut when FCM, as they are known, face Lyngby BK on Sunday.
Ellery Balcombe is another of Brentford’s players out on loan who could make a debut this weekend. Ellery is with Viborg Fodsports Forening, in the Danish second tier, for the season and trains with them this week after a spell away with England Under-21. Viborg won in the Danish Cup on Tuesday while Ellery was with England and play Boldklubben Fremad Amager on Saturday.
None of Brentford’s loan players were in action during the midweek period but all could be this Saturday. Reece Cole is with Partick Thistle and they play Arbroath in a Scottish Championship game tomorrow while Canice Carroll is on loan at Carlisle United and they have a Sky Bet League Two match against Stevenage. Justin Shaibu and Boreham Wood have a Vanarama National League game against Harrogate Town.
Marcus Forss is the last Brentford player out on loan, with AFC Wimbledon. He scored on his debut in League One against Milton Keynes Dons last week and could play against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday. Marcus spoke to the AFC Wimbledon website, read that interview here. Another striker that could make an impact this week is Halil Dervişoğlu. Halil – who will join Brentford in January – is back with Sparta Rotterdam after a spell with Turkey’s Under-21 side and they play Alkmaar Zaanstreek, better known as AZ Alkmaar, on Saturday.
