Only one of the six Brentford players out on loan saw any game time during the midweek fixtures. There are half a dozen Bees now featuring elsewhere but only Justin Shaibu, at Boreham Wood, got on the pitch in the past few days. He was a 65th minutes substitute as Boreham Wood lost 2-0 at Eastleigh in a National League game. The defeat leaves the Hertfordshire side 19th in the table after nine games.
Most of the Brentford players out on loan did not have games during the midweek period. Canice Carroll and Carlisle United were not in action and are preparing to face Exeter City in their next Sky Bet League Two game on Saturday. Emiliano Marcondes, at FC Midtjylland, and Reece Cole, at Partick Thistle, did not have games scheduled. Reece may make his debut when Partick face Montrose in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup on Saturday.
Marcus Forss did not feature for AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night. Marcus joined on Monday and Wimbledon were in Leasing.com Trophy action against Brighton and Hove Albion Under-23 on Tuesday evening but he did not play as they lost 2-0. Marcus may make his debut against Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday.
Ellery Balcombe is currently away with the England Under-21 squad so if not training with his loan club - Viborg Fodsports Forening, or Viborg F.F. for short. They did not have a game this week but play in a Danish Cup tie against FC Sønderborg next Tuesday. Ellery will still be away with the national team.
Meanwhile, Halil Dervişoğlu and Sparta Rotterdam were also without a game this midweek. Halil will join Brentford in January and has helped them to sixth place after five games in the Dutch league so far. Halil is currently away with Turkey Under-21 and is preparing for a match against England tomorrow, Friday.
