Ellery was part of the original Brentford B squad formed in 2016 and first earned a place on the bench for our Sky Bet Championship game against Fulham in November 2016. He was also in the matchday squad the following season for our Emirates FA Cup tie against Notts County before joining National League side Boreham Wood on loan last August. He made eight appearances for The Wood, conceding just ten goals, before injury cut short his time in Hertfordshire. At international level, Ellery made his England Under-20 debut aged just 17 and has played 18 games in total at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 level. Last week, the 19-year-old earned his maiden England Under-21 call up for the Young Lions’ upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo. Brentford FC Head Coach, Thomas Frank, said: “We are very pleased that Ellery has the chance to go and play games for a team that is competing for promotion to the best league in Denmark. We are very privileged at this club to have two very good young goalkeepers, one of whom can work with the first team and the second who can head out on loan. This loan move is the next step in Ellery’s development.” Brentford FC co-Director, Phil Giles, said: "Ellery will have two more years left on his contract when he returns from this loan. His target will be to use this move as an opportunity to push himself into our matchday squad for next season and beyond. We will be watching him and hoping that he can achieve that ambition. We wish him well in Denmark."
