The First Team welcomed Islington Borough to Bedfont Sports and took the early advantage through Kaitlyn Spencer-Dempsey's powerful, low drive. The Bees had chances to extend that lead but instead conceded twice towards the end of the half to go in behind; the first coming from the spot after a handball and the second a result of a sloppy pass in the Brentford midfield.

The second half was all a bit scrappy, both teams failing to get to grips with the wet and windy conditions and turning over possession with regularity. The defeat was The Bees' third by a single-goal this campaign as they prepare to head to Champion Hill to take on second-from-bottom Dulwich Hamlet on Sunday, kick-off 11am.

After their narrow defeat to runaway leaders QPR Development the previous week, the Development Team took on Sporting Duet at Kings House School, Chiswick. Things didn't start well for The Bees as they found themselves two-down early on but a brace from Shannon Read (pictured above), to take her tally to five in four games, saw them fight back to earn a point.

Next up is a home game against Actonians Development, who currently sit third in the early table.

It’s never too late to get involved. We would encourage talented female footballers to give us a try by joining our Wednesday night training session in Southall.
