Referee: Oliver Langford

Assistant referees: Akil Howson and Graham Kane

Fourth official: Craig Hicks

Oliver is one of the longest-serving EFL referees; the 2019/20 campaign is his 13th season on the match officials list and he has taken charge of over 200 EFL fixtures during that time. His first match in charge of The Bees was an eventful one as he sent off both Barry Fuller and Nathan Elder during a fiery 1-1 draw against Gillingham in December 2008.

The West Midlands official - who took up officiating after his father told him off for disagreeing with a refereeing decision during a youth match - refereed two Brentford games last season, which couldn’t have been more contrasting: The first a 5-1 victory over Rotherham United on the opening day; the second a 1-0 away defeat against eventual champions Norwich City.

So far this season, Langford has shown 26 yellow cards and one red card in eight Sky Bet Championship, League One and Carabao Cup matches.

Bristol City 2019/20 (before the weekend fixtures)

84 fouls – 22nd in Sky Bet Championship

17 yellow cards – 7th in Sky Bet Championship

0 red card – 11th in Sky Bet Championship
