MATCH FACTS

THE OPPOSITION

Millwall arrive in West London without a manager but on the back of a run of just two defeats in seven matches in all competitions, leaving them safely in the middle of the Sky Bet Championship pack.

Caretaker boss Adam Barrett was in the dugout for their 2-1 win over Leeds United a fortnight ago, two days after Neil Harris' somewhat unexpected departure. Despite promotion and an eighth place finish back in the Championship in 2017/18, Millwall fans appeared to have finally lost patience with Harris' pragmatic approach. Callum McManaman's 86th minute equaliser for Luton Town on 2 October proved the final straw as Millwall's record goalscorer left the next day after four-and-a-half years in charge.

That victory over Leeds was the first time that The Lions had scored more than once in a league game in 18 attempts and Millwall fans will be hoping it is a sign that more attacking football is on the menu going forward.

THE MANAGER

Caretaker boss Adam Barrett is best known for two spells with boyhood club Southend United where he won promotion on three separate occasions. He played more than 350 games for The Shrimpers, helping them from League Two to the Championship in the mid-2000s, appearing in the PFA Team of the Year in both those promotion campaigns, and then back to the third tier in 2015. He also won promotion from League Two with Gillingham in 2013, where he earned a third PFA Team of the Year inclusion. After retiring in 2017. Barrett joined the Millwall coaching staff as First Team Development Coach before taking over on a temporary basis earlier this month.

TEAM NEWS

The major Brentford team news over the international break was the confirmation that Sergi Canos had suffered a serious knee injury which will need a substantial period of rehabilitation. Luka Racic is nearing a return but Saturday's game will be too soon for him.

Millwall will be without keeper Frank Fielding and midfielder Ryan Leonard for the trip to west London. Winger Jiri Skalak is back in full training after recovering from foot and ankle injuries sustained in August.
