Match Preview: Hanwell Town v Brentford B

Details ahead of Brentford B's Middlesex FA Senior Cup match

25 October 2019

Brentford B will make the short trip to Hanwell Town on Saturday 26 October in a 3pm kick-off as they seek progression to the third round of the Middlesex FA Senior Cup.

Having progressed from the first round with a bye, the match will see Neil MacFarlane’s side take part in the competition for the first time since winning the prize last season, which saw them beat Harrow Borough 4-0 at Griffin Park.

The Bees go into the game at The Powerday Stadium on a good run of form following the international break where a number of players were in action at youth level.

Following their return, the side navigated their way past FFDTV Academy in an 8-1 win at Jersey Road before they came up against Reading Under-23s at Griffin Park on Wednesday evening.

A competitive encounter saw the Bees run out 3-1 winners with Jaden Brissett notching two goals on the night as MacFarlane’s side take some momentum into the tricky cup encounter with Hanwell.

Ahead of the match, the Brentford B head coach said: “It’s going to be another tough game for the B Team group, we’ve had a cup tie already at Beckenham as well (in the London Senior Cup), in which we came out on top, and hopefully we can do the same again on Saturday.

“They (the games) come thick and fast between now and Christmas, but as I’ve always said, that’s what players want to do. For the supporters it’s another opportunity to come and watch us on Saturday and hopefully we’ll get another win.”
