Club Secretary Lisa Skelhorn has become the latest person to perform the Griffin Park Countdown. At every home match in 2019/20 we are counting down to the final game at Griffin Park. This will include using a special display which will be updated at each remaining league match at Griffin Park. The Farewell Griffin Park countdown was changed to 17 at half time at the game against Millwall earlier this month by Lisa, the longest-serving member of the Club’s full-time administrative team.

Lisa joined Brentford in the summer of 1992, when we she was 17 and we had just been promoted to the newly-created Division One after the formation of the Premier League. She worked as part of a small staff through times of financial difficulty in the early years of the new millennium and was appointed as Club Secretary in 2002. Now more than 17 years in to that role, Lisa was recognised by the EFL in the summer of 2017 for 25 years of service to Brentford FC.

After working at Griffin Park for more than a quarter of a century, Lisa moved to the Club’s Jersey Road Training Ground earlier this year. She is one of the first Brentford staff to meet new players when signing for the Club and has drawn up hundreds of player contracts over nearly two decades with The Bees while making very sure she is never in the publicity photographs. After joining the Club at 17 and with 17 years as Club Secretary to her name, Lisa counted us down to 17 to go.
