Brentford B will once again be in Griffin Park action as they welcome Reading Under-23s on Wednesday 23 October in a 7:30pm kick off.
The match gives Neil MacFarlane’s side the opportunity to turn out in a stadium environment, continue their development, as well as allow Bees’ fans to take a look at how the team are developing.
The match is free of charge for supporters to come and watch with Braemar Road access available for spectators.
Brentford B’s last match at Griffin Park saw them fall to a narrow defeat against Luton Town with Callum McManaman’s penalty the only difference between the two sides.
August 2019 also saw the young Bees hold West Ham United’s Under-23s to a 2-2 draw in an entertaining affair with Jaden Brissett and Jan Žambůrek netting for the home side.
Rewatch Brentford B's match at Griffin Park against West Ham United
The last time Brentford B took on Reading Under-23s was back in November 2018 at Jersey Road in which The Bees ran out 6-0 winners, and a couple of months before that it was Reading who came out on top in a 3-2 win.
The B Team go into the match following the return of a number of international players who have been in action for their countries at youth level. The likes of Gustav Mogensen, Jaakko Oksanen, Simon Andersson, Joe Adams, Japhet Sery Larsen and Mads Roerslev have all been away with their respective countries over the past week and will link up with the squad aiming to continue what has been some largely positive performances and results for Neil MacFarlane’s team.
Late September saw them secure a 6-0 win over Beckenham Town before they played out two matches in Scotland as they beat Aberdeen Reserves 3-1, and they then came out on the wrong side of an entertaining match with Hibernian Reserves in what was a 3-2 defeat. Their last match, on Saturday morning, saw them storm to an 8-1 win over FFDTV Academy.
