Two good performances in Scotland against Aberdeen and Hibernian’s reserve sides preceded the international break before they got back to action with the win over FFDTV at Jersey Road.

On the win, Jaakko explained: “We’re really pleased, we started the game really well and went 2-0 up rapidly in the first three or four minutes and then we managed the rest of the game and scored more goals.

“You can’t get slack because teams won’t stop and if they get the opportunity, they will take it, so you have to keep it up through the whole 90 minutes.”

It was Jaakko’s first taste of Brentford B action since returning from the international break where he made two substitute appearances for Finland under-21s. Having played a part in the international setup, the midfielder says he’s looking forward to getting back to work with Brentford B as he targets another win when they welcome Reading Under-23s to Griffin Park.

“It’s good to be back,” said Jaakko. “We played against Malta and Denmark; we beat Malta 4-0, but we lost 1-0 against Denmark. I felt we could have drawn against Denmark, but it was a good break overall.

“We want to keep this on, keep scoring and keep winning. It’s always a pleasure playing at Griffin Park, there’s a different atmosphere around it and hopefully we can get some fans there as well. We play football for the fans, that’s the main thing, and it’s very different to play in front lots of fans.”
