Match Preview: FC Cartagena v Brentford B

The young Bees to round off their Spain trip against FC Cartagena.

6 November 2019

Brentford B will be back in action tomorrow morning when they welcome FC Cartagena to their La Manga training complex in a 10:30am kick off local time.

The young Bees are currently out in Spain where they have two arranged fixtures, the first of which saw them travel to Albacete Under-19s in which they took away a 4-0 win.

Having been in good form of late, the Bees will go into the match with confidence with Neil MacFarlane’s side turning out some positive recent results.

Looking ahead to the match, Luka Racic, who made his return from injury in the win over Albacete says he’s feeling good after playing 45 minutes last time out.

He said: “It’s perfect to be back on the pitch, I’ve missed playing so it’s great to be back. No problems, of course you feel something because it’s your first game in a while, but I feel good.

“I was so impressed with our pressure (v Albacete); it was so good and so intense that they couldn’t really break us down and create chances. A clean sheet on my first game back is perfect.”

FC Cartagena currently compete in the Spanish Segunda Division B which operates as the third tier of Spanish football behind La Liga and the Segunda Division. In Segunda Division B, the league is split into four groups which are regionalised. The four winning teams from each group will enter into the play-offs to challenge for promotion to the Segunda Division.

Thursday’s opponents currently sit top of their group table with 24 points from 11 matches and are sure to provide a tough test for the young Bees.

Supporters who are in the La Manga area can come and watch the match at the La Manga Club Resort. For those supporters back in the UK, coverage will be provided across the club’s social media channels.
