Henrik was joined on the bench by Christian Nørgaard as The Danes made light work of the Group D's bottom side in Copenhagen. Robert Skov scored twice either side of goals from Christian Gytkjaer and Martin Braithwaite as The Danes led 4-0 just after the hour. Christian Eriksen then added two more in the final five minutes as Denmark moved top of the group ahead of their crunch game in Dublin on Monday.

Anything but an Ireland win would see Henrik and Christian qualify automatically, while defeat, coupled with a Switzerland victory over Gibraltar, would see Denmark drop into the Nations League Play-Offs.

Henrik is currently level with John Buttigieg on 20 caps won while at Brentford while Christian's good recent form saw him recalled to the Denmark group for the first time in a year.

One player who did book their place at next summer's tournament was Pontus Jansson as Sweden won 2-0 in Romania to seal second spot in Group F. Pontus was an unused sub as first-half goals Marcus Berg and Robin Quaison decided the game at the Arena Naţională.

Sweden finish their campaign on Monday night at home to Faroe Islands.
