In depth look at Gunnersbury Park site

Feature on new sports hub where Trust is involved

20 November 2019

An in-depth look at the new Gunnersbury Park sports hub has been published. The new sports hub is a collaboration between Ealing and Hounslow Councils and involves Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, University of West London, the London International School and local leisure provider Better. The facilities include two top-level, floodlit 3G artificial pitches, as well as grass pitches, also suitable for rugby and cricket, plus an eight-team changing pavilion; a gym; a studio; and a sports hall, ideal for Futsal.

Former player Ryan Peters is in charge of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust's elite development programme and is using the pitches at Gunnersbury for coaching. The Trust offers a bespoke football programme while studying for a BTEC Level 3 sports diploma at West Thames College or an A-Level course with Chiswick High School or William Perkin Church of England High School. Away from the classrom there is coaching and matches in an organised league.

The programme and use of Gunnersbury Park has been explored in depth by Ealing Council's communications team. Ryan explains why the new facility will benefit his players. Read it here.
