Luka played the first half of the match and helped the team to a clean sheet, and the defender was delighted to return as he now sets his sights on building some momentum to put himself back into first team contention.

Discussing his return, Luka said: “It’s perfect to be back on the pitch, I’ve missed playing so it’s great to be back. No problems, of course you feel something because it’s your first game in a while, but I feel good.”

“It’s my first game with a lot of the boys so it’s good to get to know them and get my first 45 minutes in a while, so it’s good for me personally.”

Luka played his part in a positive performance for the young Bees as they picked up another win in a strong display which saw them once again find the net with confidence.

Discussing the performance and the group, Luka said: “I was so impressed with our pressure; it was so good and so intense that they couldn’t really break us down and create chances. A clean sheet on my first game back is perfect.

“You fit into the group so quick, everybody has taken care of me. Of course, we know each other back from the training ground, but it’s such an easy group to come into.

“I got 45 minutes yesterday and we’ll see if we can build it up a little but more. It’s fun, we’re in Spain, what a country to play football in, so it’s perfect.”

Brentford B will now set their sights on a match with FC Cartagena at their La Manga training resort in a 10:30am kick off local time on Thursday.
