Following promotion 12 months ago, The Chairboys successfully consolidated their position in the third tier this year. Gareth Ainsworth's side ended the season 17th in the table, three points above the drop zone.
This will be the third time in four years that we have made the trip to Buckinghamshire in pre-season. Last July, a Marcus Forss penalty settled matters while our previous visit, back in 2016, ended in a 1-1 draw, John Egan on target for The Bees. You have to go back to September 2011 for our last competitive visit to Adams Park as Kevin O'Connor scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.
The game is our third confirmed pre-season friendly. Thomas Frank's side will begin away at AFC Wimbledon on Friday 5 July, kick-off 7.45pm, before heading out for a week-long training camp in Austria the following day. Premier League side AFC Bournemouth will then be the visitors to Griffin Park on Saturday 27 July, kick-off 3pm, for our only home game ahead of the new campaign.
The 2019/20 Championship season will start on the weekend of Saturday 3 August. Brentford are currently planning for a sixth season in the second tier and will find out the opponents for the new campaign when the fixtures are released at 9am on Thursday 20 June.
