On Wednesday May 8 we announced our new Technical Partner, Umbro. Like us, Umbro have a fan centric approach so as part of the launch we worked together to involve supporters and some friends of the Club to create something very special. In total we had 49 people (one child (Buddy) in arms) involved in a photoshoot in which we created an Umbro Double Diamond on the Griffin Park pitch.
Ryan Murrant, Brentford FC Fan Engagement Manager, said: “Umbro have been superb to work with as they, too, are all about the fans. We wanted to give our supporters the chance to be part of something unique. We invited those that were first to renew their season tickets, those whose stories we had recently told and others that had helped us throughout last season. We are really pleased with the results both commercially and also in bringing a once in a lifetime experience to those that were involved”.
Season Ticket holder Michele Glassup was pleased to be part of the launch. She said: “To be asked by the Club to be part of this is brilliant. I love the way Brentford think of the fans first and also it’s great that Umbro wanted us to be involved. Next season will be a sad one for many of us as we leave Griffin Park so to have a traditional football brand like Umbro in partnership makes perfect sense”.
