The Silkmen travelled to third from bottom Yeovil Town knowing that defeat would leave them nine points from safety with just nine to play. However, Sol Campbell’s side started well in the West Country and took the lead through James Pearson. Reece’s corner was then converted by namesake Harry to seal the points after 33 minutes. Victory closed the gap between Macclesfield and safety to just three points ahead of next weekend’s home game against Stevenage.

Also in the Fourth Tier, Canice Carroll played 90 minutes as Swindon Town were held to a goalless draw at home by Port Vale. It took 56 minutes for either side to register a shot on target at The County Ground. The Robins failed to test Scott Brown once during the 90 minutes as they stayed 13th, seven points off the Play-Off spots with Morecambe the visitors to Wiltshire next Saturday.

In Sky Bet League One, Jack Bonham has now gone approaching seven hours without conceding after Bristol Rovers drew 0-0 at home to Charlton Athletic. Home keeper Dillon Phillips made one outstanding save to deny Jonson Clarke-Harris but Jack wasn’t to be outdone, going full length to save from Igor Vetokele just before the break. The point lifts Rovers to 13th but they remain just two points above the drop zone with half the division involved in the relegation battle.

Josh Clarke was an unused substitute on Saturday as Burton Albion cruised past Blackpool at The Pirelli Stadium. Liam Boyce, Jamie Allen, and Lucas Akins got the goals as the Brewers’ wrapped up a first home win of 2019 to close to within seven points of the top six. Next weekend’s action sees Burton host Accrington Stanley while Bristol Rovers travel west to Plymouth Argyle.

Jack King and Sam Magri scored either side of Keiran Murtagh as The Fleet led at the break. Chris Bush made it 3-1 just after the restart with Bradley Ash pulling one back late on. Wood remain six points clear of the drop zone ahead of a visit from Aldershot Town next weekend.

Jarvis Edobor wasn’t in the matchday squad as Maidstone United were beaten 1-0 in North Wales by Wrexham. Ben Tollitt got the only goal to leave The Stones 13 points from safety with eight games to play, starting with a visit from Ebbsfleet next Saturday.
