St Kitts and Nevis missed out on this summer's Gold Cup and qualification for League A of the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League after a 2-0 defeat in Suriname overnight.
Romaine Sawyers captained his side once more, knowing that victory would give St Kitts a real chance of earning a spot in League A of the Nations League. It wasn't to be however as Stefano Russel netted late on in the first-half with Ivenzo Comvalius making the game safe in the closing stages.
The defeat means St Kitts have taken six points from their four qualifiers and will go into League B of the CONCACAF Nations League when it gets underway in September. They have also missed out on a place in the USA for the Gold Cup this summer.
The cap was Romaine's 26th for his nation and eighth while a Brentford player.
