Brentford Women make final at Ashford Tournament

Impressive afternoon for Brentford Women at local tournament

28 June 2019

After entering four teams at the Denham Tournament in May, Brentford Women were once again well represented at Ashford Town's Summer Tournament two weekends ago.

Up against strong opposition including Ashford, Denham United, Actonians, Hampton and Richmond, and AFC Wimbledon, all four teams progressed through to the knockout stages of either the Trophy or the Plate.

The high point for The Bees saw Tommy Ryan-Marnard's young side lose narrowly to a much more experienced Denham outfit in the Plate Final. It was Denham who had prevented an all Brentford final, beating Karleigh Osborne's side in the semi-final.

The tournament was another positive afternoon as Brentford Women build-up to the new season which begins with a Women's FA Cup Preliminary Round tie on Sunday 18 August.

You can still be part of the story by joining Brentford Women at one of their training sessions at Swift Road, Southall.
