In honour of long-serving Brentford FC matchday announcer Peter Gilham, Coral Brighton and Hove Greyhound Stadium are hosting a race night to raise funds for Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. The event will be held on Saturday 7 September and will include a three-course dinner. And to mark Peter Gilham’s 50th year at a matchday announcer, one of the dogs has been named after the Brentford legend coined Mister Brentford.
Mark Burridge, organiser of the event and lifelong Brentford fan, said: ‘This is a great opportunity for fans to come along and share a special evening dedicated to Peter Gilham, in celebration of his 50 years as pitch side announcer at BFC, the longest serving in English football.
“Plenty of Bees fans and some ex-players will be in attendance, along with Peter himself. All races are sponsored with a Brentford theme and we welcome you to join us in the restaurant, or to nominate a greyhound for just £10. All proceeds for the evening go to Brentford’s award-winning charity. It will be a fun evening for all in great company.”
