Brentford B have signed goalkeeper Nathan Sheppard on a free transfer. The former Swansea City youngster agreed a one-year deal this morning and joined the squad in day one of their pre-season testing programme.
The 18-year-old completed a medical in West London yesterday before signing his contract at our Jersey Road training ground. His deal with Swansea originally expired at the end of June, however he was given permission by the Welsh club to sign the contract today.
Born in South Wales, he started his career in the youth ranks with Swansea City aged 13, and has been trained there ever since. Nathan was on trial with The Bees at the end of last season, playing in behind closed doors friendlies and some of the game against SC Cambuur.
B Team Assistant Coach Allan Steele said: “Nathan is going to be a great addition to the squad. He impressed us at the end of last season and we’re pleased we could bring him back permanently this year. His attitude and desire to succeed will serve him well this season.
“He’s young and keen to learn, and we think he has the right qualities to continue his development at Brentford."
