Kolbeinn Finnsson helped ĺþróttafélagið Fylkir to a second league win in succession last week. Fylkir beat Breiðablik in a seven-goal thriller on Thursday evening to make it three wins on the bounce, including an Icelandic cup victory. Kolbeinn played the full 90 minutes in the win, his eighth game for the Icelandic side, where he started his career and is spending the summer on loan.
When Fylkir went ahead seven minutes in they may have expected an easy home win. They were, however, made to work for the points. Breiðablik equalised in the first half and then did so again just after half time to make it 2-2. Fylkir scored twice and a late third for the visitors could not prevent the hosts taking the win.
The 4-3 victory lifted Fylkir to fourth in the table and they closed the gap on their opponents, who are second. Their next league game is against Stjarnan on Sunday, 23 June, but there is an Icelandic Cup Quarter Final to play before that. Kolbeinn and Fylkir face Breiðablik again on Thursday for a place in the last four of the competition.
