Brentford midfield player Josh Dasilva will be part of the England squad seeking to win the prestigious 2019 Maurice Revello Tournament, better known as the Toulon Tournament. Josh was called up to train with England Under-20 ahead of the tournament, which starts today. He was then added to the party and is now in France for the competition.
He joins goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe in the squad, which England won for the third consecutive year in 2018. There are 12 teams taking part and England start their campaign today, Saturday 1 June. Brentford B defender Canice Carroll is also in France with the Republic of Ireland squad for the event.
England face Japan at 2pm BST, before the Young Lions take on Portugal on Tuesday, 4 June. Three days later, Paul Simpson's side complete the Group Stages against Chile. Depending on how the group finishes, the semi-finals are on Wednesday 12 June with the final being held in Salon on Saturday 15 June.
Josh joined Brentford at the start of the season after turning down a contract to stay with Arsenal. He played 21 games for The Bees this term, scoring in the Good Friday derby against Millwall. This is a return to England colours for Josh. He made his Under-19 debut as part of the squad that won the UEFA European Under-19 Championships in 2018, playing three games in the tournament, one of which was the final. Josh has also represented England Under-20 and has played ten games for his country overall.
