Brentford B have completed the signing of Japhet Sery Larsen on loan from FC Midtjylland. The 19-year-old has agreed a one-year loan, with mid-season option, subject to international clearance.
This option allows FCM to either recall the player or for Brentford to return him to his parent club. The move is part of his new five-year contract with Brentford’s sister club from the West Jutland region.
Japhet was captain of the Under-19 squad that made it to the Quarter-Finals of the 2019 UEFA Youth League, beating Manchester United 3-1 in the Last 16. He also has 23 international caps at youth level for Denmark.
The defender was in West London this week to complete a medical before signing a contract at our Jersey Road training ground.
B Team Assistant Coach Allan Steele said: "Japhet is a player we are looking forward to having with us this season. We’re pleased we can offer him a different environment for his development after such a successful year with FCM.
"He’s a defensive player who also demonstrates great qualities as a leader and I’m sure will help the others around him progress throughout next season."
