Brentford’s preparations for the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season will include a game against 15-time Ukrainian Champions, Dynamo Kiev, in Austria next month. The Bees head to the Austrian Alps for a training camp from Saturday 6 July to Saturday 13 July and will finish that trip with a match. The game on 13 July will be played at the Stadion Jenbach, Jenbach, kick-off 12pm local time.
We would like to apologise to supporters for the short-notice confirmation of the fixture, which was necessary as we searched for the highest calibre of opponent available, and a suitable venue.
Dynamo Kiev are the most successful team in Ukrainian history, having lifted the Ukrainian Premier League trophy on more occasions than all other teams combined since the league was formed in 1992. They have also won the Ukrainian Cup 11 times over that same period. During the Soviet Era they won a record 13 Soviet Top League titles and were twice UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup Champions. Last season they finished second in the league behind Shakhtar Donetsk, qualifying for this 2019/20 Champions League third qualifying round, and reached the Last 16 of the Europa League before defeat to eventual winners Chelsea.
The match will be played at Stadion Jenbach, Innstraße 3, 6200 Jenbach. Jenbach is a small town 18 miles east of Innsbruck along the E45, the main autobahn linking Innsbruck with Germany. Further details for supporters will be confirmed ahead of the match.
The game is part of a pre-season programme that starts in two-and-a-half week. The Bees will visit Sky Bet League One side AFC Wimbledon on Friday 5 July, before flying to Austria the following day. On returning, there will be a trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 20 July before a behind-closed-doors game against Norwich City four days later. The final preparation game before the new Sky Bet Championship season, for which fixtures are released at 9am on Thursday, will come against Premier League side AFC Bournemouth at Griffin Park on Saturday 27 July, kick-off 3pm.
