Coaching week focus on Ben Lampert

Britain’s only full-time deaf football coach inspiring the next generatio

7 June 2019

Ben Lampert, Sports Coach at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and England’s Deaf Football Assistant Coach, is helping to break down barriers and inspire the next generation of players. The 33-year-old who won Gold with Team GB Deaf Football at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics, has been working with the Trust for nine years and currently oversees the Deaf Coaching programme. The programme encourages children and adults to get involved with sport and tackle the existing obstacles they face.

This week - June 3 to 9 - is UK Coaching Week. During the week clubs, coaches, community groups, education, businesses and the public are showcasing and exploring how coaches play a role in building healthier, happier communities. Ben's story has been told by the EFL and can be seen here.
