Theo Archibald has left Brentford to join Macclesfield Town on a free transfer.

The Scottish winger has agreed a one-year contract with Sol Campbellā€™s side following a successful trial in preseason.

The 21-year-old first joined The Bees from Celtic in May 2017. He made his First Team debut against Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship on 19 August that year.

Last term he had a half-season loan spell at Sky Bet League Two side Forest Green Rovers. There, he scored his first professional goal against Northampton Town in December 2018.

Theo leaves with an overall tally of 51 B Team appearances and 15 goals across two full seasons in the second squad.

B Team Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said of the move: "We would like to wish Theo all the very best at Macclesfield. He has been with us for a couple of seasons and made his debut during this period.

"Although not able to command a regular First Team place, we hope his time here can stand him in good stead to getting a consistent run of games in League Two at his new club."
