There was a heavy defeat for Kolbeinn Finnsson and ĺþróttafélagið Fylkir last night. Brentford B midfield player Kolbeinn is on loan at the Icelandic side, where he started his career, and played as they were beaten by league leaders Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur, better known as KR. Fylkir trailed 3-0 at half time and although they pulled a goal back, they league leaders added a fourth to seal the win.
The defeat continues and up and down season for Fylkir. They have now won five and lost five of 14 games. They sit in sixth place in the table and while they are only four points behind the team in second, they are only six ahead of against Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur – better known as Vikingur Reykjavik – who are in the relegation zone.
Kolbeinn has been with Fylkir since May. He signed an initial two-month loan through the English close season that was extended. Kolbeinn has now played 15 games for Fylkir in all competitions and scored two goals.
