French defensive midfielder Julien Carre has joined Brentford B on a two-year deal. The former Brighton & Hove Albion player has agreed a deal until 2021 with a further 12-month option.
The 17-year-old was in West London this week to sign for The Bees and complete a medical at Jersey Road.
Julien joined The Seagulls last August having coming through at French Ligue 1 Conforama side SCO Angers. He went on to make ten appearances in all competitions for The Seagull’s Under-18s last term, nine of them coming in the Under-18 Premier League as Brighton finished fifth. Julien’s move to West London reunites him with former teammate Jayden Onen.
This is the B Team's third new addition since the squad returned to pre-season training ten days ago, after Japhet Sery Larsen and Christian Tue Jensen arrived on loan from FC Midtjylland.
B Team Technical Lead Allan Steele said: “We are very pleased to add Julien to our squad. We believe he is a late developer whose true potential will be realised over the next 18 months to two years.
"He comes in as one of our youngest players but someone whose ability and character is beyond his years. He is an exciting and tenacious central midfield player and we are looking forward to working with him”.
