Preview: Arsenal U23 vs Brentford B

Final preseason friendly for B Team played behind closed doors

30 July 2019

The final preseason fixture for Brentford B sees them face Arsenal U23s in a behind closed doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bees come into this one on the back of two wins and two defeats in their previous outings this term. The is the first time Brentford B have ever faced Arsenal since they were formed in 2016.

Arsenal's youth players take part in the top division of Premier League 2, a league system for Under-23 teams ranked highest in the country. Last season, The Gunners finished runners-up behind Everton. Finishing four points behind The Toffees was largely down to the two goalless draws between the sides in December and March.

They begin the next PL2 season at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, who finished third in the table last term, on Friday 16 August.
