Justin Ali and Nathan Mobey’s First Team faced a daunting task, visiting runaway leaders in the division above, Ashford Town, in the cup. From the off at the Robert Parker Stadium Ashford put The Bees under pressure, with only some last ditch defending, and fine goalkeeping from Emily Boycott, keeping The Ash Trees at bay in the early stages.

It was only a matter of time until the home side made their dominance count, and so it proved with Holly Isaacs, Ashley Cheatley, and Lavana Neufville splitting five first half goals between them. The closest The Bees came was Jenn Amols Brett’s long-range free-kick and an effort from Jodie Reid which fizzed just the wrong side of the post.

After the break, both Cheatley and Neufville completed their hat-tricks with Isaacs and Hannah Pearson grabbing the other two goals in the 9-0 win. It’s back to Greater London Women’s Football League Division One action next week for The Bees as they take on Leyton Orient Development at Bedfont Sports, kick-off 2.30pm.

Despite falling to a 7-4 defeat, Brentford's Development Team could take positives as they pushed second-placed AFC Stoke Newington all the way at Bedfont Sports on Sunday. Shannon Read netted twice, taking her tally to eight in six matches, with Charlotte Tanner and Kasey Clifford also on the scoresheet for Will Blithing’s side.

The Bees will continue their fight against the drop next Sunday when they host mid-table Headstone Manor LFC at Bedfont Sports, kick-off 2.15pm.
