Betting Preview: Brentford vs Norwich City

Principle partners LeoVegas Sport UK take a look at today's match markets

1 January 2019

Undefeated in three and onto the next one!

The roller coaster of 2018 came to an end after a healthy run which saw The Bees claim a victory and two draws in their last three games as Thomas Frank continues to see improvements. 2019 begins with a firework in the shape of a home tie against Norwich, where a home win is priced at 6/4 at LeoVegas SPORT.

Norwich have impressed this season, enjoying a run of twelve league games without defeat, until a bizarre ending to the Derby game finally brought their run to an end.

Playing them on the back of a defeat, and a good run for the Bees, is perhaps the best time to face the team placed second in the Championship. Both these sides tend to enjoy large spells of possession and work the ball well over the ninety so seeing the two strategies lock horns will be interesting.

Whilst the Canaries soar when going forward, they have conceded seven goals in their last three games. Brentford's defence over the same period was strong, and saw the Bees only concede once. This game can be a tight encounter, defined by the single goal, and if it falls to the home side, Brentford may well seize the moment and seal the points. Brentford are available at 19/5 to win to nil. Despite the difference in league positions, Brentford have only conceded two more goals than their opponents throughout the campaign.

Neal Maupay ended the year on top of the goalscoring charts with 15 goals in six assists, and his contribution has been impressive. We've priced him up at 4/1 to score the first home goal of 2019.

Frank feels like momentum is building, and with the bit between their teeth, the Bees can swarm to victory against a recently wounded opposition.

Leo's Prediction: Brentford 1-0 Norwich which is priced at 17/2.

Goal scorer: Neal Maupay who is at at 4/1 to score first.

Top Tip: Brentford are strong when going forward, Norwich have a leaky back-line: two important ingredients for a home victory.
