Recognition for Mokotjo after Rotherham brace

Brentford midfield player gets EFL nod

The performance of Kamohelo Mokotjo is Brentford’s 4-2 win over Rotherham United on Saturday has earned him special recognition. The South African international midfield player scored two of Brentford’s four goals in their win in South Yorkshire on Saturday. And he was named in the EFL Team of the Week for the latest round of fixtures.

Kamohelo scored Brentford’s first goal, just two minutes in, and then put Brentford 3-2 up. That third goal came just seconds after Rotherham had levelled for the second time. The Bees attacked straight from kick-off and he converted a cross from Rico Henry after being involved earlier in the move.

Brentford took the points with Saïd Benrahma, who set up the first goal, and Neal Maupay also on the score sheet. That extended Brentford’s unbeaten run to six Sky Bet Championship games and seven in all competitions. You can see Kamohelo’s reaction to that win below.

The Team of the Week also features Brad Potts, who scored for Preston North End in a win at Queens Park Rangers, Jay O’Shea of Bury and Stephen Humphreys of Southend United in midfield.
