It was a winning debut for Canice Carroll with Swindon Town on Saturday as The Robins beat Macclesfield Town 2-1 at Moss Rose.
After joining the Wiltshire club on Friday, Canice went straight into the starting XI for the trip to Cheshire. Tyrone Marsh gave the hosts an early advantage, but Marc Richards levelled before the break. It looked like the game would end all square but Jak McCourt struck in the second minute of added time to earn the three points for Swindon. Canice played the full 90 minutes as Richie Wellens’ side moved up to 12th in the table ahead of Saturday’s home game against Lincoln City.
Justin Shaibu was on target again for Boreham Wood as they played out an eight-goal classic at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday. The away side raced into a 3-0 lead, Justin adding the third ten minutes before the break, but The Daggers were level by half-time following a stunning five-minute spell. Liam Gordon made it 4-3 to the home side with 15 minutes to play only for Bradley Ash to level in the dying seconds. The goal was Justin’s third in his last six league games, as Wood made it three games without a win in the league.
Jarvis Edobor was a second-half substitute as Maidstone United secured a massive three points at home to Hartlepool United on Saturday. Jack Powell netted twice in the first-half, either side of a Jake Cassidy goal for The Pools, as the home side took an advantage into the break. Jarvis came on for the final 25 minutes as The Stones held on for a victory which narrows the gap on safety to just three points.
Elsewhere, there was no game for Jack Bonham over the weekend with Bristol Rovers out of the Emirates FA Cup.
