Eira Griffiths to shadow Thomas Frank as part of Community takeover day

Blackburn visit sees children take on host of matchday roles

26 January 2019

Eira Griffiths, who takes part in our Girls’ Football programme, will have the exciting opportunity to shadow Thomas Frank as part of our Community Takeover fixture against Blackburn Rovers next week

Eira, who has been part of the Girls' Development Centre for the past five years, will be one of ten children, from across eight of the Trust’s community projects, to go behind the scenes and join a number of matchday staff to learn the ropes. Hear more about Eira's story below.

The Club’s first ever Community Takeover Match will see children from Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s community projects take part in important matchday roles. Children with disabilities, a young carer, and budding female footballer, Eira, are just some of the participants who will take on the roles – including shadowing Thomas Frank. And the takeover won’t just focus on Thomas’s pre-match tactics, children will also join staff in the ticket office, Club Shop and shadowing Brentford’s legendary matchday announcer Peter Gilham.
