Brentford B travel to Maurice Rebak Stadium tonight to face Wingate & Finchley in the Quarter-Finals of the London FA Senior Cup. Kick-off is 7.45pm in North London.
The Opposition
The Blues play in the Isthmian League Premier Division, the seventh tier of English football. This year so far has seen them off to a bad start and they now find themselves in 20th position, just two above bottom club Whitehawk.
The Club was originally formed in 1991, when Leyton-Wingate broke apart and the latter merged with Finchley FC. The team decided to play at Finchley's ground Summers Lane, which was rebranded The Harry Abrahams Stadium. Since then, it's been renamed after the late Maurice Rebak, co-founder of the Club who died in 2016.
Their last match saw them crash out of the FA Trophy Second Round with a 4-2 defeat to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday afternoon. That means that the side have now lost their last four games, conceding 15 goals and scoring just twice. Their last victory came over Carshalton Athletic, a 2-0 win on 22 December.
The Manager
Former Reading and Burnley player Glen Little is in charge at Wingate & Finchley. In October 2018, he stepped up from his role as Assistant Manager under Nicky Shorey after the former Royals fullback resigned just a month into his tenure.
Little's first game in charge was their 6-1 win over Cockfosters in the previous round of this competition. In his playing days he was a winger who made over 245 appearances for Burnley. In 2004, he joined Reading and played more than 100 games in blue and white stripes. A short spell at Sheffield United followed before he dropped down the leagues, evenutally playing for Wealdstone FC. He retired three years ago, hanging up his boots after making nearly 600 professional appearances.
