Canice Carroll played the full game on Tuesday night as Swindon Town moved to within five points of the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs with a 2-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers.
The game was decided in an eight-minute spell late on in the first-half; Kaiyne Woolery opening the scoring with a fine finish on 36 minutes before Theo Robinson slotted home a second to wrap up the win. Those three points saw The Robins move up to 10th, five points behind Rovers who occupy the final Play-Off spot.
The appearance was Canice’s sixth since heading to Wiltshire, five of which have been starts. With Saturday’s scheduled opponents Newport County in Emirates FA Cup action this weekend, Canice and his teammates can enjoy a weekend off before hosting Grimsby Town in eight days’ time.
While Jarvis Edobor was helping Brentford B to the Final of the London Senior Cup, his Maidstone United teammates were making cup progress of their own, beating Salford City 3-0 in an FA Trophy Third Round replay. Michael Phillips, Elliott Romain, and Will de Havilland got the goals as The Stones set up a Quarter-Final tie against Stockport County. Before that however, Maidstone return to the National League relegation battle with a trip to mid-table Bromley on Saturday.
Of our other loan players, Josh Clarke and Burton Albion head to Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One on Saturday while the League Two action sees Reece Cole’s Macclesfield Town host Colchester United. In the National League, Justin Shaibu and Boreham Wood welcome Hartlepool United to Meadow Park.
