All at Brentford Football Club were saddened to hear of the death of former player Denis Hunt. The former left back died on 31 January at the age of 81. He spent a short spell with The Bees during the 1968/69 season, ending his playing career in West London having spent most of his time with Gillingham.
Denis spent more than a decade with Gillingham after joining them from the Army in 1958. By the time he arrived in TW8 he played more than 350 league and cup games for The Gills and won a promotion with them. He joined The Bees on a free transfer and started the 1968/69 season at left back but lost his place after a couple of months and played only three games after mid-October.
Denis was released after one season with Brentford and went on to manage Folkestone Invicta and Margate. The thoughts of all at Griffin Park are with Denis’ family and friends at this time.
