Dean Whitestone is one of the longest serving referees in the professional game, having taken charge of his first EFL match back in 2005.

His first Brentford game was a 1-1 draw at home to Bristol City in October 2006 and since then he has gone on to referee a further 14 Bees outings, including our EFL Cup Fourth Round tie at Birmingham City in 2010. After a two-year absence, the Northamptonshire official's most recent Bees assignment was our 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in October.

So far this season, Whitestone has taken charge of 13 games in the Sky Bet Championship, EFL Cup, and FA Cup showing 38 yellow cards.
