Brentford FC Chairman Cliff Crown was the latest to perform the Griffin Park Countdown. At every home match in 2019/20 we are counting down to the final game at Griffin Park. This will include using a special display which will be updated at each remaining league match. The Farewell Griffin Park countdown was changed to 13 on Tuesday, when The Bees beat Cardiff City, by Cliff.

Cliff was appointed as Chairman in June 2013, taking over from Greg Dyke, who had held the job since the start of 2006. He joined the Football Club Board in September 2012 and acts as Chief Financial Officer and business adviser to a number of companies in which Club owner Matthew Benham has a financial interest. Cliff has been working alongside Matthew Benham for the best part of a decade and will continue to play a key role for us during what’s sure to be an exciting 2020.

Cliff has been Chairman during a golden period for the Brentford FC. Promotion from League One was secured in his first season and that was followed up with a fifth-place finish in the Championship in 2014/15. Four top-half finishes have followed and The Bees sit inside the top ten again as the midway point of the 2019/20 season approaches.

Cliff spent three years on the EFL Board from 2016 to 2019 and also represented the EFL on the FA Cup Committee. During the 2018/19 season he was Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, a role that involved him taking part in draws for the early rounds and meeting the Manchester City and Watford players on the pitch ahead of the 2019 Emirates FA Cup Final. First and foremost, Cliff is also a long-standing football fan and is seen at most Brentford games up and down the country.
