Justin Shaibu came off the bench to net for the second time in three games as Boreham Wood picked up their first National League victory of the season on Tuesday night.
Dagenham and Redbridge were the opponents as Wood made the short trip round the M25 last night. Kabongo Tshimanga netted the opener after 18 minutes and then grabbed a second from the spot with four minutes to play. Justin, who had been introduced with ten minutes remaining, then added gloss to the scoreline with a back post header. On Saturday, Wood host Sutton United at Meadow Park.
Elsewhere, Canice Carroll served the first of his three-game suspension as Carlisle United cruised past Barnsley at Oakwell in the First Round of the Carabao Cup; Harry McKirdy, Jack Bridge, and Nathan Thomas getting the goals to set up a Second Round tie at Rochdale United. Canice will also be missing on Saturday as Mansfield Town make the trip to Brunton Park.
In Holland, there was no game for Sparta Rotterdam and Halil Dervişoğlu this midweek. They return to action on Saturday with a trip to Ado Den Haag.
