In Holland, Halil Dervişoğlu, who will join The Bees in January, netted as Sparta Rotterdam got their first win back in the Eredivisi. VVV Venlo were the visitors to the Het Kasteel and they led at the break through Peter van Ooijen. However, Halil levelled things ten minutes after the break with a fine low finish. Ragnar Ache made it 2-1 five minutes later and victory was confirmed with two further goals in the final seven minutes.

In Sky Bet League Two, Canice Carroll had an afternoon to forget against his former club, Swindon Town, seeing red late on after coming off the bench. Olufela Olomola and Jerry Yates traded goals at the start of the second-half before Canice was introduced on the hour. Zeki Fryers then made it 2-1 to the hosts before Canice was shown a straight red for a challenge seven minutes from time. Kaiyne Woolery added a third for The Robins, Mohammed Ali Sagat pulling one back in injury-time.

Justin Shaibu was introduced for the final 27 minutes during Boreham Wood's 2-2 draw at home to ten man Chesterfield. Kabongo Tshimanga netted twice for The Wood, either side of goals for Scott Boden and Jonathan Smith, as all four goals came in the opening 53 minutes.
